Throughout history, we can see the role of pets that they have played in changing our lives drastically with our living situations and cultures, and so it was seen essential that we honor our pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge and that's why this day was created to pay respect to our pets after they are dead. 

The earliest evidence regarding pet and animal domestication can be traced back as early as 26,000 BCE, where we see evidence of a child and dog walking together through a cave which means a proof that dogs were already domesticated to some extent back then also. 

And there is evidence regarding pet memorials too which shows that it is also a very ancient practice as in America, the earliest pet memorial dates back to 6,500 BCE, when the Native Americans who inhabited modern-day Illinois buried the dogs that accompanied them to pay their respect to their dogs. 

Throughout the more modern era, there are many examples of other well-loved pets in the public eye as well that has become very famous and memorable for the people. Notable ones include Balto, the Siberian Husky known for his courageous journey across Alaska to deliver medicine, and Towser, the cat in Scotland who caught a record-setting 28,899 mice and many others as well.

And because of this only many pet owners around the feel of swperation from their pets when their beloved pets leaves this world. This causes immense suffering and pain among the hearts of pet owners you can understand it if you have ever owned a pet. So that's why offering a memorial Day for our deceased pets is very essential. 

Many times people also buys new pets once the old one is dead but one thing is sure that we can't forget the bond of love and relationship that we had with our beloved first pets and no new pets can replace that bond of relationship and hence they must be always remembered and paid respect. Some people gets so much emotionally attached that after passing of their pets they don't get a new pet too.
