Art has always remained a major part of human history since the start of humans. As even before the period of civilizations, we have found evidences in which depictions were made by early men on caves to represent specific symbols and stories. So this itself tells that arts came naturally to us human beings, and it has always given us pleasure.

At first only drawing was introduced to the world and then by the invention of paper it became widely popular as people started to draw whatever they like and to express their creativity. And then colors were introduced and at first they were applied on paintings.

The notion to combine a form of wax with pigment goes back thousands of years. Encaustic painting is a technique that uses hot beeswax combined with colored pigment to bind color into stone. Pliny the Elder, a Roman scholar, was thought to describe the first techniques of wax crayon drawings.

Although colored pencils had been used for “checking and marking” for decades prior, it was not until the early 20th century that artist-quality colored pencils were produced. And then other types of coloring materials were also introduced like the paint brush mostly around the same time in modern history.
