National Coding Week 2022: History

Former headteacher Richard Rolfe and tech entrepreneur Jordan Love came up with the idea and initiative to establish National Coding Week while attending the EU Code Week as an ambassador for the United Kingdom. The first observance of the week occurred on September 21, 2014.

Thus, each year, the National Code Week is supported by thousands of volunteers who run this mega event on libraries, schools, businesses, and non-profit organizations, while assisting the unskilled and creating a brighter future in the field of coding.

On September 13th, we also celebrate International Programmers Day, which honors programmers and recognizes their efforts in making people's lives easier through the use of programming languages.

Today, programming languages are used in almost every field and play an important role in the functioning of today's world, where no one can imagine a world without them. The demand for software engineers or programmers is expected to increase by 15% over the next three years, making it even more important to celebrate and raise awareness about the importance of learning coding languages.

National Coding Week 2022: Significance

The day is important in raising awareness about the development of skills in the field of programming, where it has become even more important for the population to learn new programming languages as the upcoming future will demand new and highly skilled programmers.

Coding has now become a basic requirement for jobs, as coding skills or knowledge of programming languages is regarded as an important part of the digital transformation, and the need for programmers in the present and future is critical.

Also, as in today's generation, parents are teaching or introducing their children to programming languages from an early age, because development of own function in programming languages helps in boosting up the creativity level of the brain, we can conclude that programming or software development is the future and will be a competitive job, so learning new skills is highly important.
