Every year on April 14, Amedkar Jayanti is held to honour Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's biggest contribution to the abolition of casteism in India and the establishment of the Republic of India; this year, we will be commemorating Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar's 131st birthday. Casteism is defined as a bias towards a specific set of individuals, further categorising them into separate groups based on their ancestors' professions and assigning them a social position ranging from higher to lower. Casteism has been practised since the time of ancient India, with Aryans establishing it circa 1500 BC.

However, because Ambedkar's campaign for equality was a significant fight for humanity's survival and the abolition of stereotypes, Ambedkar Jayanti is also known as Equality Day in India. Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the father of the Indian constitution, made possible today's struggle for equality by establishing a non-discriminatory society and creating special reservations for minorities.
