Nashik soon to get a new IT park thus embarking on it's journey to become the third IT hub of Maharashtra after Pune and Navi Mumbai

The Nashik Municipal Corporation(NMC) which is headed by BJP has decided to build a new IT park at Nashik in order to make it a major IT hub on the lines of Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

This also will be the first time in Indian history that a Municipal Corporation will execute such projects rather than normally they do road projects, sewage, etc.

And once completed Nashik will also become the third IT hub of Maharashtra as Navi Mumbai and Pune are the major IT hubs of the state as of now. In whole India also Pune comes at third in terms of IT revenue after Hyderabad and offcourse at first we have Bengaluru.

According to the plan the NMC has joined hands with the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises(MSMEs) to develop an Infotech Park on land of 300 acres at Adgaon which is near Nashik city and is also situated near the airport and the upcoming Samruddhi Mahamarg(Mumbai-Nagpur) expressway.

The deadline for the plan is yet to be announced but around Rs. 7,000 Crores will be invested to set up this IT park according to officials.

The officials also said that unlike the other IT hubs which mainly focuses on IT giants Nashik will be different as it initially will offer offices for small IT companies.
